Android fans in the north have reason to be excited as Rogers Canada launched the long awaited Sony Ericcson Xperia X10 today.SE announced the the Xperia back in Nov 2009 and it is finally making it’s North American debut on the Canadian Cellular Network Rogers.It is Sony’s first android handset and is going to be their flagship unit but do plan to release two smaller versions of the Xperia in the summer.
The Xperia X10 comes with Android operating system 1.6 and the word from SE execs is that it will be getting upgraded to 2.1 at least come Nov 2010.The phone has very sleek design with a piano black finish and compact design.Sony has created a very sleek user interface and software options for the phone including their flagship Timescape to manage all your communications.Also featured is their Mediascape software media management of your pictures,music and videos.A interesting new feature is the Face Recognition software that allows you to recognize up to five faces in one photo and automatically stores them under your friends profiles on your phone.Couple this feature with the amazing Sony camera and 4 inch screen and it makes for a wonderful experience for android users.
