We Go Hands On With Froyo – Video and Pictures

If your Twitter home page hasn’t already been flooded with news about Google’s latest update, Google released an OTA update of Froyo. Since then, there have been numerous guides on how to flash the update. If you haven’t done so yet, I have 5 words for you. What are you waiting for? Manually updating to it is extremely easy. The update is just plain awesome.

They’ve introduced a new file system called JIT, meaning Just In Time. This new system is extremely fast.  After you update, you’ll be wondering what you ever did without it. It’s that fast. The other non-aesthetic changes made were support for applications running on the SD card, flash on the video camera, and native support for Wifi and USB tethering. The biggest and most anticipated change made was the support of Flash in the browser. Yes, Flash. There are other things in the update to, believe it or not. The cosmetic changes made are just fantastic. Instead of that stretchy sort of strained swiping through home screens, they’ve changed it to be more like swiping on HTC Sense, which is great. It’s extremely fluid and feels so much better. The updates to the Google Apps and others coming on the ROM are just as great too.

There’s honestly so much in this update that it will be easier for you to just watch the video recorded by our own Parker Haile below. Take a look at the video and tell us what you like or dislike. Happy Froyo Day!
