Although in the United States we do not have any Android powered tablets, developers interested in making apps for them is at a high. According to a report by Appcelerator, 62 percent of developers surveyed said they would like to develop apps for Android tablets, even though there are not any in the US at this time. Also of note is how high the numbers are for Android phones. This is great news for Android as the competition only benefits the consumer.
Android tablets will be flooding the market very soon. The Dell Streak, powered by Android, is a 5″ tablet that was launched n the U.K. last month. The Huawei S7 is a 7″ tablet that is also out in the U.K. and should be shipping very soon. Google and Apple will be battling it out in the tablet market and this time Apple doesn’t have the advantage it had with the iPhone. Apple had a big head start with the iPhone but now they do not have that luxury. The tablet market is going to be fierce and the advantage is going to go towards Android powered tablets due to the rumored price point of $199. Try getting an iPad for that!
