Survey: Developers Rooting for Android's Long Term Success

More and more we see Android’s popularity skyrocketing. Of course someone says this almost daily, but nevertheless it is the case. Well not only are consumers getting with it, but developers are as well. Recently a survey from Appcelerator showed that as consumers accept Android, more developers continue to count on the growth and momentum Android has gained and will continue to gain beyond the iPhone. True, since the iPhone and iPad have had more than 1.5 years head start on Android they are certainly the platforms that devs focus on for the moment. Give it a little time and this should change.

Of 2733 developers surveyed, 40% favored Apple’s iOS in the long term vs 60% in favor of Google’s Android push. While this is a very small percentage of the hundreds of thousands of devs, this still makes a very good case for the growth potential of Google’s OS.
