Leading global telecommunications provider, ZTE annouced its entry into the Android phone market. Unlike the superphones released of late, ZTE is targeting the entry level customer. The X850 won’t score you any points with the ladies but it does sport a 600Mhz Qualcomm processor and comes equipped with Android 2.1. The screen leaves something to be desired. At 2.8 inch 320×240 resolution, it’s a far cry from the WVGA AMOLED screen of other newly released smart phones. This is however an entry level device and for $173, it should attract the buyer who doesn’t want to re-mortgage their home to buy a phone. Available only in China as it supports WCDMA.
