HTC "Very Heavily Investing" in New Production Capacity

HTC has announced that they are focused on getting new facilities in place where they can keep up with the demand for their phones.

HTC’s Jon French – the company’s UK director told Mobile Magazine:

“We are catching up. We are still in a position where the demand keeps growing and like any good manufacturer, it takes time to build up capacity just to meet demand so we are doing that now by very heavily investing in new production capacity and we will catch up very, very soon”

One thing that has hurt HTC’s phone availability is a shortage of AMOLED screens which it was buying from Samsung. HTC wanted to keep production going so they switched screens to Sony’s Super TFT LCD screens. This shows their commitment to keeping up with consumer demand.
