If you know where to look, there are lots of Chinese knock-offs out there. This is particularly true in the tablet scene. There is a deluge of Android tablets, most of them running 1.5 or 1.6. Most of them have resistive touch screens. This means that generally they will do better with a stylus than with touch. There must be people buying them, because there are so many choices on the market! To each their own.
A reader of AndroidCentral.com, Ted417, found one such tablet at the mall in Brownsville, Texas. It cost him $250, but he uploaded lots of pictures! They are below.
This particular tablet has four buttons: there is a home button, placed suspiciously similarly to that of the iPad; there is a volume rocker; a back button; and a power button. Who knows what the CPU is like or how much ROM/RAM. What we do know is that there are two speakers, a USB port, a slot for microSD, and 1 GB of on-board memory. It appears to be Android 1.6. Good luck getting that updated!
