Have you ever spent thirty minutes looking for a parking spot? Google has developed an application, Open Spot, that can help everyone that has been in this situation. It’s a pretty easy concept. First you need to download the application off of the market, of course. Then once you leave your primo parking spot that you spent thirty minutes finding, you mark that spot on the map. Other users looking for a place to park can see all available open spaces on the same map, color coded to show how long it has been since the spot was first left open.
At first this concept will not help much until there are more people using the application. This is a very cool idea brought on by Google Labs. This application should be very popular and very useful to commuters. Knowing Google, they will ad more features. Will you give it a try?
