Adobe's on the AIR; Video of What's Coming

Adobe’s AIR (Adobe Integrated Runtime) platform will be coming to Android as AIR 2.5 next quarter of this year, and Adobe had a presentation of what apps would look like when developed on AIR instead of native Android.  Several attendees to their Flash Summit in San Francisco said the apps appeared to run just like native Android apps.

AIR is a cross-OS runtime to develop internet applications, using HTML, Ajax, Flash, and Flex.  It can create one application installer that works across different operating system.

Here’s the video of what to expect from AIR on Android, courtesy of AndroidCentral.  The photo above is theirs as well, from the video.

I guess Adobe AIR is destined to be one of those ubiquitous redundant acronyms like PIN Number.
