Android Tablet + Printer = Win? HP Certainly Thinks So

It seems that HP does want to release an Android tablet after all, even if their main OS going forward is going to be WebOS. However, they won’t simply release a tablet the way you’d think they would. The will only sell it bundled with one of their printers.

I’m sure that nobody would mind a tablet, even if they had to pay a little extra for an already expensive printer, but the bundling of a printer with a tablet seems kind of odd. It’s certainly not one of the first things that come to mind when you’re thinking of what could a tablet be bundled with.

I expect one of 2 things to happen: (1) either the tablet cost would be too much of the bundle package cost, and people would rather just buy the printer separately, or (2) the tablet would not even be worth its extra price. Now that HP is going full throttle on the WebOS, I wonder how much focus are they really going to put into an Android product.

If you’re wondering anyway, the tablet will have a 7″ screen with 800×480 resolution, and a 4 GB internal memory.
