Archos isn’t a brand that you head a immediately know who and what it is, product wise, but now that they’re going to be bringing what some have called the Android iPod Touch Equivalent. How do you feel about their tablets that run Android now?
The new series that is supposed to be coming from Archos is the Gen8 Series and will have Android and have several sizes and specs supposedly. On JR.com they had a upcoming device as the Archos 32, and since this was not yet ready for the public and therefore makes it a leak with some serious backing. For now anyway. The specs for the Archos 32 are 3.2″ touchscreen (no word if capacitive or not), 800Mhz ARM Cortex A8 processor, 8Gb of internal storage, and running Android 2.1 and upgradable to Android 2.2. According to the brief leak, the price is $147 (without taxes).
Not much else is known about this device as the leak was brief, but it sure sounds like Archos is once again trying to get consumer attention through Android. Let’s hope our little green guy can make some sales for them.
