Most Dell talk is about the Streak, being released August 13th. But another Dell prototype is getting some attention too. The Dell Thunder is making noise. Featuring a 4.1 inch OLED screen, 8 MP camera, 720p video, LED flash, removable 1,400mAh battery and an integrated Web Hulu app, little else has been heard about this phone since April.
If you want to hear the Thunder, there’s video at the bottom (already featured here). Now see some new photos of the Dell Thunder prototype, fresh from AndroidSpin. The Dell Thunder is expected to be released Q4 of this year.
This is what the Dell Thunder looks like just chilling with its app drawer open. Other views follow thanks to AndroidSpin’s tipster Kwiktek.
And here is the Engadget video mentioned above, showing a little bit of screen selection on the Thunder prototype. It’s a little under a minute.
Hard to tell from just a prototype, but if you want to know where to place this phone, it seems to be sporting some similar brags as the Motorola DROID X and HTC Evo 4G; the battery is almost as powerful (1400 mAh instead of 1540 and 1500 respectively) and the camera and video are at the same fighting weight. We’ll have to see some more specs (such as what CPU Dell is stocking and how fast it’s clocked) to tell where Dell is placing this upcoming phone.
