Sounds like tongues are wagging after a T-Mobile regional meeting held to discuss the latest phones set to launch by the company. Several trustworthy sources are telling of T-Mobile’s first HSPA+ device which, for now, is slated to be named the G2, a successor to the popular G1.
The G2 is said to come out of the box running stock FroYo Android 2.2, and powered by a Qualcomm MSM7230 with a clock speed of 800 MHz to 1.0 GHz. The prototype shown at the meeting was operating at 800MHz, but it wouldn’t be a surprise to see T-Mobile release the phone to the public running at 1 GHz.
They’ve already set up a teaser site for this phone, and some leaked information points to the possibility of seeing this phone in stores mid-September.
We’ll keep you updated as more information regarding this phone surfaces.
