What's Next After Gingerbread Android 3.0 ? Honeycomb …mmmm

Google has named every major Android version as a dessert. So far they’ve had Cupcake (1.5), Donut (1.6), Eclair (2.1), Froyo (2.2), the upcoming Android 3.0 Gingerbread. And now, according to TechRadar, the new version will be called HoneyComb.

We don’t know anything officially about Gingerbread, except for some rumors released a few months ago, so don’t expect to find out much about this Honeycomb version except for its name. It’s probable that the Android team hasn’t even finished development for the Gingerbread version. I’m sure some rumors about Honeycomb  version will start appearing as soon as early next year.

Andy Rubin has said that they want to slow down the release of these versions, to once per year, so we might not see Android 4.0 Honeycomb until fall 2011.
