Android Apps for the NFL Football Season

One football season has ended (the FIFA World Cup), and another is just beginning (American football).  The NCAA Bowl Subdivision started yesterday, and NFL is just around the corner.  As such, we have a list of useful apps for you:

Football:

NFL Mobile: This is the only official NFL app, and unfortunately it is only available on Verizon.  With it you can get news, scores, and other information.  You can also sign up for live games streaming with VCAST for $10/month.  If you are on Verizon, you can grab it by texting “NFL” to 8915.

Sprint Football Live: Just as Verizon has their own app, so too does Sprint.  It is not quite as good as the Verizon app, but also offers news, scores, favorite team information, and betting odds.  You can grab it from the desktop version of the Sprint site.

Yahoo! Fantasy Football: A fantasy football app if you use Yahoo! for your Fantasy action.  Has great features for managing your roster, etc.

College FB and Football Live: They are made by the same company, and are basically the same.  One of course is for College and the other for NFL.  They have standings, scores, roster info and more.

Multiple sports:

ScoreMobile: A really good app for getting live updates.  Has just about everything you want in one place, including video clips from The Score.

CBS Sports Mobile: A really good, stable app.  It is actually better than their dedicated football app.  It has scores, stats, and news, but does not have upcoming schedules.

ESPN ScoreCenter: It has scores, schedules, live-updates, and links to articles.  You can set it up to have emphasis on certain teams both in-app and on their widget.
