AT&T is not wasting time and has started training their store employees for the Samsung Galaxy Tab. They may need to train them really hard because they are going to need that training if they hope they can sell the Tab for these outrageous data plan prices:
- $15/100mb for 1 day
- $30/300mb for 7 days
- $50/1gb for 30 days
Considering the iPad plans are like 25$ for 2 GB, that is 4x cheaper than Galaxy Tab’s plan. Now, part of the blame is Samsung, because they are the ones that priced their tablet so high – up to $1000. AT&T needs some expensive plans to subsidy that. The iPad doesn’t need a subsidy. But I’m sure AT&T wouldn’t give the same kind of deal to Samsung as the one they gave to Apple, so a big chunk of that price must be AT&T’s fault. We all know AT&T hasn’t exactly been one of the biggest promoters of Android. But that’s ok, because there is some competition among carriers and hopefully the others will offer much lower prices.
