Thanks to this snapshot from TmoNews, we now have confirmed details from T-Mobile’s internal system that the G2 will in-fact be available for pre-order starting tomorrow, 9/24. The device will remain at pre-order status until October 4th and the device can be then picked up/purchased online (http://G2.T-Mobile.com)/upgraded, etc., starting October 6th (not the 18th as some rumors have suggested).
For those of you who have been living in a cave for the past few weeks, the G2 is boasting some pretty nice specs:
- Android 2.2
- 3.7in Display
- Full-QWERTY hardware keyboard
- 5MP Camera w/ LED Flash
- 720p HD video recording
- 800 MHz Qualcomm MSM 7230 processor
- Adobe Flash Player pre-installed
- 3.5mm headphone jack
- Bluetooth Support
- 4GB of internal storage (expandable to 32GB w/ microSD)
- Ships with an 8GB microSD card
- Swype soft keyboard pre-installed
The G2 certainly looks like a decent ‘official’ successor to that phone that started it all a couple of years ago. Check out the screenshots below for a reminder of what the G2 is sporting externally.
