While Motorola and Verizon keep DROID X owners wondering “Just how late did they mean by late summer?” for their promised Android 2.2 (Froyo) upgrades, the folks at My Droid World have an upgrade on the Froyo upgrade. Version 2.2.13 is ready to install on your DROID X, provided that you’ve already rooted it. Did you install Froyo on your DROID X last month?
Full instructions follow, but once more, the warnings. Neither this site nor MDW is responsible if you turn your powerful smartphone into a $550 paperweight. Don’t proceed unless you absolutely know what you’re doing. Do go over to MDW and read the reader comments, you will definitely learn something.
IMPORTANT:
Step 1:
This is a leaked OTA upgrade in the update.zip format. This is not a Custom ROM or a port. This will upgrade only your system.Download file Link 1

You will now install the New 2.3.131) Restart phone via Koush bootstrap into Recovery Mode
2) Wipe Data
3) Wipe Cache
4) Select Mounts and Storage
5) Select Format System (ONLY DO THIS IF IT FAILS TO INSTALL THE FIRST TIME)
6) Select Mount System
7) Back out by pressing Power button
8) Select Install zip from sdcard
9) Select Choose zip from sdcard
10)Find and select this zip file
11) First Boot may take up to 5 minutes12) Go into Koush Bootstrap (if you have it) and redo the bootstrap. (must be rooted)
STOP: IF YOU LOSE ROOT YOU CAN USE THIS METHOD AS FOUND ON XDA. It takes only 3 – 5 minutes to root your phone. Root Instructions
Your phone will now be running 2.3.13 (Froyo Rooted)
