Now available in the market is an updated version of Amazon’s Kindle for Android app. The latest update brings with it voice and text searches, support for highlights and annotations, integration with Shelfari (a social networking site utilizing books) and even sports inter-device synchronization so you can keep your Android phone in sync with your Kindle device! There is more information available such as extra plot, character and summary details, but you can even participate in real-time threaded discussion with other readers.
One cool new feature is the orientation lock. This allows the user to lock the screen in either portrait or landscape mode regardless of how they are holding the device. Even cooler still, Wikipedia & Dictionary.com integration allows the reader to search for definitions of words and phrases without leaving the Kindle app.
Kindle for Android is an app by Amazon Mobile that is available free for download from the Android market. Use the QR code to download or (if you haven’t already) update your existing app.
