Best Buy is looking to be the place to go for your tablet purchase. We see here that Best Buy will be carrying WiFi only, Verizon, and Sprint versions of the Galaxy Tab. The Verizon and Sprint versions having 3G capabilities along with WiFi. You’ll be able to grab one for $499 for all three, with contract or month to month options with the two carriers. I assume there will be a discount when purchased with a contract, but nothing is listed here.
I can’t wait to see how the Galaxy Tab will do sitting in the showroom next to the IPad. Some have said that with the IPad offering a bigger screen for the same price point, Samsung may lose out. I don’t feel this is the case. The portability alone, would win me out over an IPad. My personal opinion is that Android’s open OS and community makes it the superior OS which will prevail in this fight. Let’s face it, If you have a smartphone you have made a decision on a mobile OS, and that will be your tablet of choice.
No release date is set here but we would expect to see them in early November. This would coincide with Sprint’s Nov. 14th and Verizon’s Nov.11th set releases. It would also fall right in line with this authors birthday. (* HINT HINT*)
