Now, there’s words out that Samsung is planning to update their two phone into Froyo around mid-October. Well, hopefully it is true. In the mean times, if you are an owner of a rooted captivate and not going to wait for the official Froyo, I got something for you.
See the firmware version and the build number. Yes it’s Froyo all right, complete with its features too. There’s mobile hotspot, Adobe Flash Player 10.1, the JIT compiler, Media Hub support, and a host of UI tweaks to boot. So, if you have root captivate, go on to the XDA developer page and grab the instructions and download. In the mean times, here’s a video of the froyo
