More Proof of the Nexus Two by Samsung

There is another story about the possibility of the Nexus Two being built by Samsung. I covered this the other day, but this time there is supposed proof from Gizmodo. They said they had a hands-on with the phone, but it later came out that it was just second hand knowledge passed to them from a “friend”.

The details from the article are pretty interesting though, from what they heard about the phone it is running Gingerbread (2.3), “It’s black and shiny, built with glossy plastic. Up close, though, it’s “got this curve to it.” While the screen, which our source thinks is the same 4-inch AMOLED affair from the Galaxy series, is flat, the front is “sort of concave” with hard edges. And the back is curved. The tapering makes it feel thinner than Galaxy S, though it might be about the same thickness. “It feels really similar to the Galaxy S in a lot ways.”

Also in the article it mentioned that it has a front-facing camera, which may be supported in video chat on Gingerbread.

Remember that Samsung event on November 8th? As mentioned in the article that I wrote a couple days ago, this could be the phone that is going to be announced by Samsung, there is also rumors going around that Gingerbread will launch November 11th.  Everything is fitting somewhat nicely into the fact that if Gingerbread comes out then, and this phone is announced on the 8th that it will launch with Gingerbread on it.

We also know that Google will be launching this phone in carrier stores, instead of their failed attempt at the online store.  If you are a U.K. reader it will be sold exclusively through Carphone Warehouse.

Again this is all speculation basically heard from a friend of Gizmodo, but from digging around online it seems to be pretty legit information.

If you want more information on Gingerbread, the good guys over at Absolute-Android have a pretty exclusive list, which can be found here.
