Samsung Reaches Half Its Goal Already. Sells 5 Million Galaxy S Phones

Samsung has said before that they plan on reaching 10 million sold units by the end of the year, and it seems that less than halfway through, they’ve already reached half their goal – 5 million unit, out of which 2 million were sold in the US, and 1 million in Korea. I believe reaching their goal of 10 million is very doable, considering the holiday season is coming soon.

Samsung managed to create a very compelling phone by having the best display technology on the market in it – Super AMOLED – and also by having the best GPU on the market in their Hummingbird chip, which is starting to be a very important spec now that real games are coming to Android.

If Samsung keeps this up, and Nokia doesn’t, it will soon be the biggest phone manufacturer in the world.
