Some info about TinkerDroid:
TinkerDroid is an Android community aimed at helping others in the community answer questions. A new user can register, ask a question and seek the support of the community to help find a resolution/answer.
TinkerDroid is completely user driven and supported. Answer questions for others and earn “karma points.” You can use these points as a status symbol, to let others in the community know what you are trustworthy and can put more faith in your responses. Also, users with high numbers of karma points can be assigned various moderation tasks, another way to keep the community filled with the best information. It’s a free service that you can login to via OpenID, Google, Yahoo, etc.
In a nutshell, you can win $100 just for asking and/or answering questions. The more times members of the community vote on your question or answer, the more chances you have of winning a $100 Amazon.com gift certificate.
Here are some examples of questions that you could ask:
- “How do I change my ring-tone?”
- “How can I make cheaper calls?”
- “How do I root my phone?”
- “Where can I get the best accessory for my phone?”
The contest begins October 18 (today) and runs through December 6. That is PLENTY of time for you all to get over to Tinkerdroid.com and earn some karma!

October 16, 2010 — How do I change my ring-tone? How can I make cheaper calls? How do I root my phone? Where can I get the best accessory for my phone? This is a small sample of the questions Tinkerdroid expects to see answered from members during the 2010 Askathon Contest.
Tinkerdroid is proud to announce another great contest aimed at getting your Android questions answered. No question is too simple and no question is to tough. Members that ask or answer any question on Tinkerdroid are automatically entered to win a $100 Amazon.com gift certificate. Members will be entered once for asking or answering the question and again for each time another member “likes” their question or answer. The contest, beginning on October 18, 2010 and ending on December 6, 2010, will award two prizes.
