Boku, yet another company vying for the hole that is the Android Markets mobile payment system, is in serious talks with some High level officials at Google. While right now they are more in the market for developers to offer small transactions in-app, this could lead to Android wide carrier billing.
Both Google and Apple are looking pretty hard at Boku. No one can say what either company wants to do with Boku once they acquire it. With PayPal making its way to the Market soon, I really don’t see the point in this. Unless it is a way to help developers get more access to services and SDK’s that companies like Boku offer. Maybe it’s just another way Google is trying to “stick it” to Apple. Very curious to s ee how this all pans out in the end.
