Enjoy a 3D User Interface without a 3D phone!

We are already starting to see 3D enabled phones come out, but what about providing manufacturers with an UI in 3D? That is what SPB Mobile Shell wants to do with user interface solution. The idea is to provide something fully customizable for the end-user–a home replacement similar to ADW where everything from the way the widgets are viewed to the way folders are presented can be modified. SPB lets you view all your windows in a 3D carousel which is spun until you go to the one you want. Any shortcut can be made a widget and any widget changed to be viewed the way you want.

SPB has just released Mobile Shell version 5.0 to OEMs and Carriers for Android, hoping to get them to use them to develop a more 3D look to it. Although currently not available in the Market, they do plan on providing something sometime in the future. Here’s a look at their promotional video showing off their very impressive graphics, which, by the way, is being demoed from the Samsung Galaxy GT-I9000.
