New Android Market Features Are Coming with Gingerbread

Google promised us an improved Android Market both on our mobiles and also on our PC’s, ever since the I/O this year. But we haven’t seen any improvement yet. They’ve had 6 months to add more improvements so I’m expecting we’ll see some of them as soon as Gingerbread is released.

Market updates has been the most demanded improvement from developers. They want improvements such as Paypal integration, availability of paid apps in many more countries, and better filters for the apps, so the good apps come out on top when people search for them. Right now it’s pretty chaotic.

We’re also expecting to see a big improvement in the way the Market works on PCs, and we should be able to install apps from PC from now on. Another nice improvement would be the launch of Google Music, which would probably be integrated in the Android Market. We don’t know yet if Google managed to finish their negotiations with the labels in time for this launch.
