The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 has been using Android 2.1 but a major issue with the phone is that it does not support multi-touch. For some reason Sony Ericsson has stated that “Multi-touch will not be a feature in future updates” for the Xperia X10. There has been an addition on the company blog that says differently. The blog states:
Because of the huge reaction to this and the real desire for multi-touch expressed by you the users, there has been lots of investigations going on and I now have some good news to disclose. We aim to enable multi touch (pinch zoom) in an over-the-air update for the X10. The timing for this update is still a bit work in progress but it will for most markets be during Q1 next year.
SE released a video that shows some of the things that you can use multi-touch for. It also states that the multi-touch feature is not perfect and will have bugs with some other apps seeing that it is not fully integrated with the Xperia X10. It will work with the pinch-to-zoom function. This is fantastic news for all of you SE X10 users out there who were just craving multi-touch for your phone.
