It wasn’t too long ago when Android lovers everywhere were jonesing for FroYo, but now that Android 2.3 Gingerbread has been released, we’re all dying for a taste.
If you’re on T-Mobile, and are using either an HTC myTouch 3G, Desire Z/G2, or HTC Dream, you can now grab a Gingerbread ROM (unofficially) for your device, thanks to the wonderful hackers and modders out there.
For Desire Z owners, a Gingerbread Alpha ROM is available via Koush at Cyanogenmod. As stated, this is still in the Alpha stage, so don’t expect a ROM for everyday use.
Next up is the myTouch 3G, which is brought to you by seo over at Xda-Developers. This is also a very early build and is pretty unusable at this point with only the data, radio and WiFi working right now.
Last up is the HTC Dream’s ROM brought to you by Xda-Developer Dominating. This ROM is a little more baked with support for Google Sync, Facebook, Google Apps and WiFi.
While these are exciting developments, it can’t be stressed enough that these are very early Gingerbread ROMs, and should only be installed out of curiosity’s sake until they become more usable.
