Pantech is showing off an impressive Android smartphone in South Korea. What’s so impressive? It comes equipped with DDR2 memory (probably 512 MB) making it 1.5 times faster than earlier smartphones using DDR1 memory.
Due to be available from KT and LG Telecom in South Korea later this week, the Pantech Vega X runs Android 2.2 Froyo, and highlights a 4 inch touchscreen, 5 MP auto-focus camera, along with a 1 GHz Snapdragon MSM8255 processor.
According to Pantech Vice President Lee Eung-joon, “When surfing the Internet, searching the Web, or running 3D games, it moves so fast that it could threaten the existence of personal computers.” All that speed due to the DDR2 memory.
