Up until now, LG has not been a very big name in the Android scene. They had a few mid-range phones, but nothing big and special. All that is changing.
First, the LG Optimus 2X was announced. It will be the world’s first dual-core phone, and will launch in Korea next month, followed by Europe and Asia.
Then, nearly immediately afterward, pictures leaked of an LG B. The phone with the brightest display in the business, and it is just LCD. There were side-by-side comparisons of it with an iPhone and a Samsung Galaxy S. It is thinner and brighter than both.
LG just confirmed that the LG B exists, and that they will be showing it at CES. The text of their tweet is:
seein is believin! The super slim & super bright “LG B” Android phone. come to #CES #CES11 and see with your own eyes!!
I think that the carriers and handset manufacturers are getting really good at the strategic leaking game. A strategic leak is better than any press release! It builds up hype and and advertises. Are you excited about the LG B or LG Optimus 2X? Let us know in the comments.
