Motorola has just posted their software update plans for various devices, which is sure to leave some users rather unhappy.
While it’s not surprising that older devices like the Cliq XT and Devour won’t be getting anything higher than Android 2.1, what is surprising is that — from the way the chart reads — that the Droid X won’t be getting 2.3 anytime soon. Also curiously absent are any update plans for the Droid 2 and the Droid Pro. However, Motorola says that this timeline will be updated as they continue to work closely with Google and the various carriers, so there may be some good news coming in the future for users of newer devices.
