XOOM into a Honeycomb(Android 3.0) tablet made by Motorola, yep…that’s it’s name. Sounds fast, which is exactly what I’ve heard Honeycomb will be. Xoom will absolutely be running Honeycomb, but it will fall short in the area of 4G LTE. We’re hoping to see a USB slot, which will support 4G LTE, but for now it won’t be built in.
Google’s VP for Mobile Platforms, Andy Rubin, has already given us a taste of what Xoom can do, and it surely looks like a must-have for Android Tablet lovers. Here’s the YouTube video for those of you that may not have seen it.

Update: According to Android and Me, the Xoom tablet could have an optional LTE modem that would plug into a PCI expansion slot. Sources tell Taylor Wimberly that Verizon would be selling these to provide 4G speeds for the new tablet. Wimberly goes on to say he still thinks Honeycomb is Android 2.4 (not 3.0), based on analytics from his site logs.
