We all know the excitement when a new version of Android is released, especially within the developer community. They just can’t wait to hack it on to as many devices as they can manage. Developer supercurio of XDA Developers managed to get a gingerly (no pun intended) working build of Gingerbread (Android 2.3) running on his Samsung Galaxy S, by using the kernel and system image from the Nexus S.
This build is quite defective, losing WiFi, GPS, Voice and Camera functions, but undeniably gives one that crunchy taste of Gingerbread. Once the bugs are absent it will be great for Galaxy S owners. Take a peak at the two YouTube Videos below. You are gonna love the screen on, screen off UI of Gingerbread. I thought it was pretty amazing!
