Everyone is talking about (with much anticipation) the brand new Google Nexus S Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) smartphone, with the NFC chip. It will soon be available at all Best Buy stores near you.
There is one small downside to that NFC chip. It can only read data. Do not get too disappointed Android lovers, this will only be temporary as updates will be on the way. NXP (the chip’s supplier) has told us that the chip does support read/write/exchange capabilities, which would allow one to swipe their Nexus S across any other phone with the NFC chip to exchange contact information with one another. Sounds great! So, now we will just have to wait for the updates. Android is constantly adding new updates making us hungry for more and more Gingerbread and Honeycomb.
