The Barnes & Noble’s Nook Color has had access to the Android market with the use of hacks and custom ROMs. In January, however, Barnes & Noble’s is keeping good on their promise to expand on the functionality of their tablet/ebook reader and it will be updated to Android 2.2 and have full access to the Android market.
This is great news for anyone who has already purchased the Nook Color or anyone looking for an ebook reader and can appreciate the value of this added functionality. Available for $250, this is now one of the best deals on the market in terms of e-readers. If you’ve been on the fence this news should get you going.
Hopefully the issues pointed out in the video (from Engadget) are corrected with the update.
