The Android blogosphere is buzzing with information regarding the soon-to-be-released HTC Thunderbolt on Verizon Wireless. Although the name is still in doubt, as are definitive specs, this phone has everyone talking because it’s likely to be the first 4G phone out of the gate for Big Red.
Here’s a quick rundown of what we think we know about the device. The Thunderbolt is rumored to have a dual-core 1.2 GHz Snapdragon processor running Android 2.3 Gingerbread, a 4.3-inch screen with an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. What really makes this phone stand out is that it’s supposed to have support for up to 128 GB of storage. Also interesting is the kickstand cover for the rear speaker. While it can’t be stressed enough that no one knows for sure what’s inside the device, what is certain is that if these specs are right, this is going to make practically every device released in 2010 seem like a phone you’d buy at Toys-R-Us.
The Thunderbolt is rumored to debut at the upcoming CES in January where we’ll get all the details. In the meantime, you can still sign up at HTC’s website to get up-to-the-minute news about the phone. And check out the gallery and let us know what you think.
