According to mobile news site YouMobile, the Samsung Galaxy S series of devices will be getting the Android 2.3 Gingerbread upgrade sometime in February 2011. This news comes after a recent post on Twitter by someone with Samsung Mobile India, who said that the devices would indeed receive the upgrade.
I know what you’re thinking, Gingerbeard is awesome. I think Conan O’Brien has one. Of course that’s a little typo, I’m sure they meant Gingerbread. After some time on Twitter, the post was mysteriously taken down for reasons unknown. To help clear things up, YouMobile got ahold of a source who said that the rumor was true, Galaxy S devices would see the upgrade, and it would happen in February, maybe even before.
While we are slowly moving closer to a widespread outbreak of Gingerbread on more devices, there is no proof if or when the Galaxy S series will get Android 2.3. Odds are that it will happen, the when is just going to be up in the air for now.
