I think Samsung may have heard the outcry of people demanding a Tegra 2 chip in the Nexus S phone, and they are now going to get it for upcoming phones and tablets. At first, I think Samsung wanted to wait till their Orion chip is ready (which might not be for a while), but they must’ve noticed that even their closest competitor LG will use Tegra 2 for phones and tablets, so they must be there to compete with them on time, instead of simply waiting.
If they bought $250 to $350 million worth of Tegra chips, then they will probably use them for their next generation Galaxy phones and tablets, which should be ready a few months from now. I think they’ll work double time to get these tablets ready before their competition steals too much market from them, but I doubt we’ll see the phones or tablets ready before April at the earliest.
