A while back Vizio and Google make a partnership. The manufacturer Vizio would make google TVs. And if that wasn’t enough, they sweeten the pot even more. They announced that they’re be making an android phone and tablet, using their own skin of course. Now what unique about Vizio product is the IR blaster that they mounted on the phone. Meaning it could be use to control any numbers of electronic, not just Vizio’s. Now let’s start with the hand on.
Vizio phone
The Vizio Phone comes in with a still un-named 1GHz “plus” processor, a 4″ 854 x 480 LCd display, 4GB internal memory, 5MP camera, VGA front-facing camera, and built-in IR technology for use as a traditional TV remote control. Physically, the device is very sleek – An all black front meshes well with a very bare matte battery cover. As far as the aforementioned custom UI goes, Topolsky praises it as “easily one of the most beautiful and useful variations that we’ve seen of Android.” Continuing on by saying that “In some ways, what Vizio is doing from a design and usability standpoint put the Vizio Phone in an iOS or webOS class.” Now, the phone custom skin is not revealed very much but it seemed pretty slick.
Vizio Tablet
Now the tablet and the phone share similiar specs. Both run on the same custom skin and the IR blaster is still present here. The only different that it sport 8″ LCD at 1024 x 768 screen.
