With no official promo material released for the HTC Flyer tablet, you’ve got to use your imagination right now. While we can’t see it yet, we can piece the Flyer’s specs together thanks to a leak to news site AndroidGuys. None of the following details have been verified, but according to the leaked info the HTC Flyer will included:
- a 7-inch, 1024—600 resolution screen (identical to the Galaxy Tab)
- Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255 processor
- HDMI port
- DLNA-enabled for wireless streaming
- 5MP rear camera with both LED flash and facial recognition
- 1.3MP front-facing camera for video calling, Skype is preinstalled
- When the specs were received the device was running Gingerbread, could debut running Android 3.0 Honeycomb
- A remodeled version of HTC Sense that is more desktop-like
- HSPA connectivity
- LTE
It’s a good start, although there is always room for improvement before release. HTC has had a winning run recently with smartphones, so we’ll have to see how well they can perform on the tablet front, especially considering that some of their competitors have stronger specs. The rumored released date for the Flyer is sometime in March, with a 10-inch model already in the works.
