T-Mobile has been making a lot of headlines lately for their strong support of Android and upcoming phones, but this one caught us all a little by surprise. According to T-Mobile’s USA CEO – Phiipp Humm, there are preparations for an HSPA+ (4G) Sidekick. Rumors state the Sidekick will launch in the first half of this year and will supposedly feature Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), and have it’s classic signature flip out keyboard (though according to the picture it looks like a G2-esque keyboard slide out is more likely) . The transition from the Danger OS to Android seems organic in a sense, seeing as Android’s Andy Rubin was the co-founder and former CEO of Danger Inc.
It was also confirmed that the Galaxy S 4G aka Vibrant 4G will be arriving soon. As a reminder, the Vibrant 4G will be a refreshed version of the original Vibrant that features Android 2.2, a front facing camera, and HSPA+ (4G). Be sure that we’ll bring you the latest on these devices as more information about them gets released.
