HDTV manufacturer Vizio have let their CES 2011 secrets out of the bag, with the announcement that they will bring not just an Android phone, but a Tablet to the market as well. The VIA Tablet and VIA Phone will come featuring an unannounced Android OS, and run a custom UI called VIA Plus, which will be integrated into Vizio’s future phones, tabs, and TVs.
“Whether consumers are looking to enjoy content on the big screen, on their tablet or on a mobile phone, VIA Plus delivers on the promise of Entertainment Freedom for All by creating a rich and consistent user experience across all devices that’s accessible to everyone, from the power user to the casual browser.”
The VIA Phone will feature a 1 GHz processor, 4 inch high-resolution capacitive touch screen, 802.11n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, GPS, a MicroSD card slot, HDMI output with HD video playback, built-in IR blaster w/universal remote control app, a front-facing camera for video chats, and a 5 megapixel rear camera.
Sadly the VIA Tablet will not be dual core, but still another great addition to the mounting competition. It will feature a 1 GHz processor, an 8 inch high-resolution capacitive touch screen, 802.11n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, GPS, a MicroSD card slot, HDMI output, a front-facing camera for video chats, built-in IR blaster with universal remote control app, and a unique three-speaker design for stereo audio in both portrait and landscape modes.
Vizio is planning to demo both devices during their private CES showcase at the Wynn Hotel. Until then, you can check out their VIA promo page, and the gallery below for a few more photos.
