The Acer Liquid Metal Android smartphone destined for carrier Rogers in Canada is quite a bit closer to release. According to a source of site MobileSyrup, the Liquid Metal will indeed be launching on the carrier, but it will be known as the “Liquid mt”.
If you’re unaware of the Acer Liquid mt, it will run Android OS 2.2 ( Froyo), has a 3.6 inch touchscreen display (480 x 800 resolution), a 5 megapixel camera with auto-focus and LED flash, 720p HD video recording capabilities, 800 MHz Qualcomm 7230 processor, 3.5mm headset jack, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, with up to 32 GB of storage.
Also, thanks to a leaked price guide it looks like the Liquid will be available at the super-low price of $49.99 on a 3 year contract, or for $399.99 without. It’s expected to launch sometime in Q1, with the best possibility being sometime in March.
