For those that have rooted their phones, you have had to decide which of the many custom ROMs you’d like to run. In the world of custom ROMs, there are few that are of the elite, and Cyanogen and his team have got to be at the top of that list. Some may even call him the Godfather of custom ROMs. Cyanogen and his team have been putting out ROM after ROM, all built from source for some time now.
Well, the guys of Team Cyanogen have done it again, this time dropping a ROM on us built from the Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) source. CyanogenMod 7.0.0-RC1 has just been released for a few devices:
- Google Nexus One (built by HTC)
- T-Mobile MyTouch 4G (also built by HTC)
- HTC EVO 4G
- HTC Incredible
- HTC Legend
- HTC G2
This list may not be complete, I’d suggest heading over to the CyanogenMod Forum and checking on your device.
If you’ve been running the CM7 nightlies, or are on another ROM and want to check this out, you can also download through ROM Manager, an app for rooted phones to flash custom ROMs. The link takes you to Android Market where you can install the app.
If you don’t see a release candidate for your device yet, keep checking back or check the nightly build section of ROM Manager or the CyanogenMod forums for your device. Happy flashing everyone, hope you enjoy some Gingerbread goodness!
