Anybody want a ticket to the Google I/O Developer’s Conference in May? Well if you feel like handing over a cool $1000 or more you’ll be in luck on eBay. Talk about ticket scalping! With the I/O show selling out in record time, something under an hour, it was only natural for most or maybe all of those tickets to show up online. Even with the show being broadcast live and FREE on the internet, why would anyone feel the urge to spend such bloated amount just to attend?
The I/O event general admission tickets were priced $450 to $550 when the initial sale launched. Now if my eyes don’t decieve me we’re seeing prices on eBay 2 or 3 times that much. One of the final sales actually went at the sky high amount of $2025. I hope someone can write that one off.
To anyone that broke the bank to attend, I congratulate you. You’re either very die-hard, or just have a fat wallet. Hopefully the show will be well worth the money. If you are one of the lucky few that managed to grab a ticket let us know. By the way, this isn’t a Lady GaGa concert, and Justin Bieber won’t be there, I don’t think he’ll be there anyway. So why is it so hot? Just a quick money-making scheme to screw over the die-hards? What do you guys think? Should anyone need to pay this much to attend a Google event?
