At HTC’s press event at MWC 2011, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg made an appearance to discuss the new HTC Salsa and HTC ChaCha. He had denied rumours regarding Facebook-branded devices and that the social network would not be going that direction.
During the event, Zuckerberg discussed how manufacturers have their own explanations by saying:
“A lot has been made about an individual Facebook phone, but we’re going to see multiple devices this year. The ones that are best are the ones that jump in and are social from the ground up.“
He also added that HTC are going deeper with their HTC Sense UI to support Facebook integration. The Facebook button spotted on the HTC Salsa and ChaCha allows you to share locations and pictures, upload photos instantly and many more functions.
Last but not least he also said that, “We’re very happy with the direction HTC has taken and we look forward to much more to come.”
Stay tuned as we will update you as soon as any information about the devices are available.
