Tickets for Google’s 2011 I/O Developer Conference went on sale at 9 AM Monday, and were sold out within the hour according to a tweet from Google’s VP – Vic Gundotra. While great news on its own, when compared to previous years it’s even more impressive. In 2009 tickets were sold out in 90 days, while last year’s 2010 conference took 50 days to sell out.
With Google showing that most of their Android devices are running mostly up-to-date software and tackling fragmentation, developers are clearly more inclined to invest into the Android/Chrome ecosystem and are showing increasing support. Last year we were teased with Android Marketplace website features, and various standout features, so we’re looking forward to this year and find out the direction Android will take – especially in handsets.
The Google I/O Developer Conference will be May 10-11, 2011 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. Ticket prices were $450.
