Verizon 4G LTE on Phone = Half of 4G Stick

The sad news is true, readers. According to Phandroid and its source, the powerful Thunderbolt will be missing half of the download and upload speed available to customers who buy the 4G stick for their laptop.

As of now, the release of HTC  Thunderbolt is March 3/4 (Update: we have no idea when it’s launching, see here), so until then we’ll have to trust that these speeds were not tested in a bad network area. According to Verizon‘s original 4G plan, all NFL cities were supposed to get 4G first, so perhaps those cities will experience better connections.

Once people actually start buying up Verizon’s 4G-capable phones, we’ll see  if 10 Mbps download and 11 Mbps upload are possible or if Big Red’s network will experience issues with so many customers.
