LG Optimus 2X is a Multitouch Monster!
How many fingers do you have? It’s a shame I only have 10 fingers. But then again, how many points of contact can you possibly make on a phone. I’m referring to the LG Optimus 2x, which in a video demonstration is shown to support 10 “input devices” or points of contact.
Multitouch times 10 = Optimus X2
With a phone that can allow for that many input devices, it allows software developers the opportunity to use multitouch to the fullest. Not only is typing on the Optimus 2X that much better, but you can now use every digit you have (plus more if you have it) to control different aspects of an application or a game.
Developers for all mobile platforms that have a touchscreen have been able to code for multitouch to have different actions. But now with the Optimus 2x, the application of multitouch is practically limitless.
Why is this important? LG Optimus 2X, Multitouch Applications, and the Tablet
This may not seem like a big deal, espeically on a phone, where it is impractical to use 10 fingers on such a small screen. But if you think of the large scale, and the forward movement in Android devices, tablets with this capability would be an incredible feat, and allow for some awesomely interactive applications. Look forward to some mutlitouch tablets accepting 10+ inputs in the near future and check out the video for what the Optimus 2x can do.
